Revolution or Evolution

I think is was Wellington who said that “Reformation is really the beginning of a revolution.” He made this remark in explaining how the French Revolution began as an attempt “reform” the monarchy of France and ended up with the guillotine, the Jacobin’s, a dictator who wanted to rule the world (Napoleon), and tremendous bloodshed. I’m sure in the beginning he thought it would follow the same pattern that the American War for Independence did and what Lafayette had in mind. Luther had in mind a slight change in the use of indulgences in the Protestant Reformation. It ended up being a revolution agonist the western church and still exist today.
